Prambanan, the Largest Hindu Temple in Indonesia
Prambanan, the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia - Prambanan temple is also called Cadi Jonggrang. Prambanan temple is a temple complex, which consists of several temples located in Prambanan sub-district (Sleman) and Prambanan sub-district (Klaten) a distance of approximately 17 miles Northeast of Yogyakarta, 50 miles Southwest of Surakarta and 120 km South of Semarang.Prambanan temple is located on the border between Central Java and Yogyakarta (DIY). Prambanan temple is very unique layout, which is in the administrative area Bokoharjo village, Prambanan, Sleman, while the entrance of the Prambanan temple complex located in the administrative region Tlogo village, Prambanan, Klaten.
In the school holidays, Prambanan temple is visited the students who want to see directly from the close of the splendor and history. The students come from various parts of Indonesia, especially from Java island.
Temple was built in the 9th century AD. This temple is dedicated to Trimurti, the three main Hindu gods are named:
- Brahma the creator god
- Vishnu as the preserver god
- Shiva the god of destruction
